The night is its mother and the day is generated from it, just as a newborn is removed from its mother when he emerges from her and a snake from her skin, so he appears born in a world other than the world contained by the night. The father is the day that we mentioned, and we have explained that in the book of time for us and the knowledge of time, so this is night and day.
