The Ancient One, Glory be to Him, with His eternal attributes, so He sent them in His Qur’an fourteen single, ambiguous letters. He made the eight for self-knowledge, and the seven attributes for us, and He made the four for the combined natures, which are blood, black, bile, and phlegm, so twelve were present, and this is the human being from this sphere and from another sphere composed of eleven and Ten, from nine, from eight, even to the sphere of the two, and it never degrades into the oneness, for it is from what is unique to the Truth, so it does not exist for an existent except for Him. Then God, Glory be to Him, made the beginning of them the alif in the calligraphy and the hamza in the pronunciation, and the last of them is the nun, so the alif is for the existence of the essence despite its perfection because it does not lack movement, and the nun is for the existence of the half. Of the world, which is the world of composition, and that is half of the circle that appears to us from astronomy, and the other half is the intelligible nun, which if it appeared to the senses and moved from the world of the spirit, it would be a surrounding circle. But this spiritual nun, in which existence is perfected, was hidden and the tangible point of the nun was made an indication of it. The alif is complete in all its aspects, and the nun is incomplete. The sun is perfect, and the moon is incomplete because it was erased, so the quality of its light is loaned, which is the trust that he carried, and according to its erasure and its secrets, it was confirmed and appeared three times, then three times the sunset of the divine heart moon.
