A guardian from among His saints in what He inculcates in His creation like Al-Khidr and teaches him knowledge from Himself. It will be expressed in these forms that the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, utters, as Al-Khidr said, “And I did not do it on my command.” This denier believed in it, as he claimed, when the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, brought it. By God, if He was a believer in it, and he did not deny it to this guardian, because the legislator did not deny its application in the aspect of truth, such as uprightness, descent, companionship, laughter, joy, smiling, astonishment, and the like, and it was never reported from him, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, that he prohibited it from any of God’s servants. Rather, he told us on the authority of God that he said to us, “It was.” You have in the Messenger of God a good example, so he opened for us and urged us to follow him, may God bless him and grant him peace, and said, “So follow me, and God will love you.” This is from following him and imitating him, so who can imitate him when he received from us the truth, Glory be to Him, and he taught us knowledge from him that contained mercy and care that God gave us and provided for wherever we were in that. On clear evidence from our Lord, and it is recited by a witness from us, which is our following His Sunnah and what He has legislated for us. We have not neglected any of it, nor have we committed any violation by permitting what God has forbidden or prohibiting what He has made lawful, so we seek for that what is known to us from the side of the truth.
