There is a thin veil that I can see from him, but he does not see me and does not know where I am, and he distracted himself from me, so I said that he does not mean what we are, so I did not meet him until he came down the stairs. That was in the year five hundred and ninety-five in the city of Marrakesh, and he was transported to Cordoba, where his grave was located. And when he placed the coffin in which his body was on the animal, his combinations made it equal to it. On the other side, I was standing and with me was the jurist and writer Abu Al-Hussein Muhammad Ibn Jubayr, the writer of Sayyid Abu Saeed, and my companions Abu Al-Hakam Omar and Ibn Al-Sarraj, the copyist. Abu Al-Hakam turned to us and said, “Don’t you look at someone who is equivalent to Imam Ibn Rushd in his compilation, this imam, and these are his works,” meaning his compositions, so Ibn Jubayr said to him. Oh my son, yes, I did not look, no, loosen your mouth, so I recorded it with me as a sermon and a reminder. May God have mercy on all of them and what remains of that group except me. We said about that. This is the imam and these are his deeds. *** I wish my hair had its hopes fulfilled
