[ The Three Calls of Truth on the Day of the Standing Day ]

Then a caller calls out from God and the people of the Standing hear him, not knowing or I do not know whether that is the call of the Truth. Glory be to Him Himself or a call about His command, Glory be to Him. He says in that call, O people of the situation, you will know today who are the owners of generosity, for He said to us, “O man, what has deceived you from your Lord, the Most Generous,” as an instruction to Him [Page 309 of the Cairo edition]

And as a warning to say: “Your generosity.” Indeed, I heard our Sheikh Al-Shanakhta say one day while he was crying, “O my people, do not do with his generosity. He took us out, and we were nothing. He taught us what we did not know, and he was gracious to us, beginning with believing in him and his books and his messengers, while we did not reason. You see him tormenting us after we reasoned and believed. His generosity, Glory be to Him, forbade me from that. He made me cry with joy, and those present wept. Then we go back and say So the Truth says in that call: Where are those whose sides used to turn away from their beds? They call upon their Lord in fear and hope, and spend of what We have provided them. Then they will be brought to Paradise. Then they hear from the Truth a second call. I do not know whether that is the call of the Truth itself or a call about the matter of the Truth. Where are those who were not distracted? It doesn't matter what trade it is Abstaining from the remembrance of God, the establishment of prayer, and the paying of zakat, they fear a Day in which hearts and eyes will turn, so that God may reward them for the best of what they have done, and increase them of His bounty, and that increase, as we said, is of Gardens.
