Four levels for them from each of the gates of Hell are a divided part, and they are the stages of their torment. When you multiply the four levels, which are the levels from which Satan entered upon them, in the seven gates, the outside was twenty-eight stations. Likewise, God made the stations that God had destined for the individual human being, which is the moon and other than the sweeping, sweeping vehicle that moves. In it, and it descends to find beings, and in this course there will be what consists of actions in the elemental world, for this vehicle has been confined to four natures multiplied by their essences, and they are seven, and from it emerged its twenty-eight stations. This is by the decree of the Almighty, the All-Knowing, just as He said: “Everyone swims in an orbit,” and it was from what has become evident from this divine management. In these twenty-eight letters, there are twenty-eight letters, from which God composed words, and disbelief appeared in the world, and faith by each person speaking what is within himself of faith, disbelief, lies, and truthfulness, so that God’s proof may be established over His servants, manifestly, by what they uttered, and He appointed angels over them to write down what they uttered. God Almighty said, “Honorable, writing down,” and He said. He does not utter a word but there is a watcher by him, ever present. So He made the stations of Hell twenty-eight stations, and all of Hell is a hundred deep, from the top to the bottom, analogous to the stairs of Paradise, in which the happy descend, and in each.
