Who says, and most of them are, that the muhrim wears socks if he does not find sandals and cuts them below the ankles? And who says that he wears them but does not cut them, and Ata’s reason for cutting them is that it is corruption, and God does not like corruption, and the absolute hadith of Ibn Abbas is that the socks are for those who did not find sandals, on the authority of the Messenger of God. May God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and he did not mention their severance, and this is what Ahmad and Ata’ said.
