Here except for a subtle matter that many of the learned believers do not realize, and God has pointed it out to the one who listens and is a witness, and that is that the hypocrites here, when they meet those who believe, they say, “We believe.” If they said that in truth, they would be happy, and if they are alone with their devils, they say, “Indeed, we are with you,” if they said that and remained silent. The censure that occurred did not affect them. Rather, they increased. Indeed, we are mockers. They bore witness against themselves that they were liars, so they only took what they acknowledged.
