So we say that the world of the unseen is perceived by the eye of insight, just as the world of witness is perceived by the eye of sight, and just as sight does not perceive the world of witness except darkness, unless the veil of oppression or similar obstacles is lifted from it. Then the obstacles are lifted and the lights are spread over the tangible things and the light of sight and the visible light are combined. The one who sees with sight perceives visible things. Likewise, the eye of insight veils thoughts, desires, and the observation of others from the dense natural world to such veils as these prevent him from perceiving the kingdom, I mean, the world of the unseen. So if a person turns to the mirror of his heart and purifies it with remembrance and recitation of the Qur’an, then he obtains from that light, and God has a light spread over all existing things.
