Among the afflictions whose removal is limited to medicine, their patience is not diminished by their complaint to God regarding the removal of that affliction from them. Do you not see that Job asked his Lord to remove the affliction from him by saying, “Harm has touched me, and You are the Most Merciful of the merciful,” that is, it was afflicted by me. So he complained of that to his Lord, the Almighty, and said to him, “And You are the Most Merciful of the merciful.” In this word, it is confirmed that the reasons were laid out and presented to his Lord by removing the affliction from him, so his Lord responded to him and revealed the harm that was afflicting him, so he confirmed by the Almighty’s saying, “So we answered him,” that his supplication was to remove the affliction and that the affliction that was afflicting him was revealed.
