The majority of scholars in the first era are unanimously agreed that zakat is obligatory on gold, silver, and livestock, with the stipulation of one year, and no one from the first era disagreed with that in what was transmitted to us except Ibn Abbas and Muawiyah, because no authentic hadith on the authority of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was proven to them regarding that.
