Adding a person to slavery to his Lord or to servitude is better than adding him to freedom to others by saying that he is free from the slavery of the Gentiles, for freedom from God is not valid. If a person was in the position of freedom, he would only be witnessed by notable Gentiles, because by their witnesses, freedom from them is proven while he is in this state. Absent from his servitude and servitude together, for the position of servitude is more honorable than the position of freedom in the right of man, and servitude is more honorable than slavery.
