Ghusl is recommended on this day in order to go out to prayer, without disagreement. I mean in its desirability, and the Sunnah is abandoning the call to prayer and the Iqama, except for what Muawiyah introduced, according to what Abu Omar bin Abdul-Barr mentioned in the most correct opinions about him on that, and the Sunnah precedes prayer before the sermon on this day. Except for what Othman bin Affan, may God be pleased with him, did, and with it Abdul Malik bin Marwan, may God have mercy on him, took consideration and diligence, and based on what he understood from the Shari’a regarding what is meant by the sermon, and they unanimously agreed that there is no timing in the recitation in the two Eid prayers, with the desirability of reciting “Glory be to the name of your Most High Lord” in the first and in the second.
