It is permissible to hasten to do good deeds, tranquility is permissible, and dignity, and combining them is to have haste with the usual preparedness before the time for it begins, so he can do it with tranquility and dignity, thus combining haste and tranquility. Rather, the servant is commanded to hasten to good deeds because he is acting in permissible things and nothing else. So whoever is in a condition that does not act in permissible things is in good condition. Every situation, and for this reason there was evidence of both cases together, so it was said, “Hurry to forgiveness from your Lord,” which is worship here. Whoever hastens to it has hastened to forgiveness. And he said, in the other case, those are hastening to good deeds, so he made hastening in them and in the first to them, for it is not a substitute for it, and here is also a point, and that is that Forgiveness is not valid except after the good deed that necessitated it has been done.
