What I say in this matter to the people of investigation is that the Qur’an is not called the Qur’an except for the fact of the association that is in it. It combines what the Truth has told about Himself and what He has told about His creatures and His servants from what He has told about them. So this person is not free of junub in his recitation. If he wants to recite, either he should look. It is evident in the fact that the Truth translates for us with His words what His servants have said, or considers it from the perspective of the one from whom it is translated. If he looks at it from the perspective of the one from whom it is translated, he recites, and in the first place, he does not recite until he is purified inwardly, and the form of purification in his inward being is that the Truth be his tongue with which he speaks, just as the Truth was his hand in touching the Qur’an, so it becomes the Truth. Then he is reciting his words, not the ungrateful servant .
