There is no abode of joy, so whoever knows it does not rejoice in prosperity and does not grieve because of misery. Indeed, God created this world as a place of calamity and the Hereafter as a place to follow, so He made the calamity of this world a reason for the reward of the Hereafter, and the reward of the Hereafter is from the calamity of this world as a substitute. He takes in order to give and is afflicted in order to reward, and it is quick to go away and imminent to change, so beware of the sweetness of her breastfeeding because of the bitterness of weaning her. And abandon what is pleasant in its immediate future for what is unpleasant in its later life, and do not strive to rebuild a house whose ruin has been completed, and do not continue in it, while God wanted you to avoid it, so that you will be exposed to His displeasure and worthy of His punishment.

The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “O people, fear God as He should be feared, strive to please Him, and be certain of this world with annihilation and of the Hereafter with survival, and work for what comes after death, for it is as if this world had never existed and as if the Hereafter had not ceased.” O People: He who is in this world is a guest, and what is in his hand is bare, and the guest is traveling, and the bare thing is returned. Indeed, the world is a present offering from which the righteous and the immoral eat, and the Hereafter is a true promise in which a powerful King rules. So may God have mercy on someone who looks at himself and prepares for his spear as long as his leash is loose and his rope is thrown away before his time expires. His work is interrupted

The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “The world has departed, departing, and the hereafter has become beautiful and is coming. Indeed, you are on a day of work in which there is no reckoning, and you are about to be on a day of reckoning in which there is no work. And God gives this world to those who love and hate and do not He gives the Hereafter except to whom he loves. And the world has children and the Hereafter has children, so be among the children of the Hereafter and do not be among the children of this world. The evil that I fear for you is following desires and long hopes. For following desires diverts your hearts from the truth, and long hopes divert your worries to this world, and what comes after them for anyone is better than this world or the afterlife.

If a person finds that his food has run out and his time has come, the grief of death is cast upon him, and his anguish and grief overwhelm him.
