And I have forbidden you to say, “My soul is wicked,” and say, “I am cruel to myself.” And if your neighbor asks you to stick a piece of wood in your wall, do not prevent him, and do not look into anyone’s private parts or into his house except with his permission, and do not accompany anyone except those in whose company you find an increase in your religion and faith, and extend your kindness to all pious and righteous people. You give the immoral person what he can use to help him in his immorality, and if you have a wife and you hit her because of something that happened to her, then do not have intercourse with her from that day, and beware of asking for anything other than God, except God in His Paradise and His vision. As for anything in this world, no, and if you ride the sea, do not ride it except for a Hajj or Umrah, and do not propose. If you are a guest of a people, do not fast without their permission. Do not be a guardian or a messenger of a people, especially among kings, or a witness, and beware when you wash yourself not to urinate in your bathing room, but rather stay away from it and go ahead and do not vow as much as you can. If you vow, then fulfill your vow.

For the Messenger of God prayed. God, upon him be peace, has testified to the miserliness of those who made a vow.

And beware of wishing to meet the enemy. If you meet him, stand firm and do not flee. Beware of cursing the believers, especially the Companions in particular, for you will harm the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him among his Companions, and do not curse the wind, for the wind is from the soul of the Most Merciful. But ask God for its good and the good of what it was sent with, and seek refuge in God from its evil and the evil of what it was sent with. And if you put on a new garment, then name God and say, O God, give me its good and the good of what it was made for,

When food and prayer come, start with food and do not pray while you are stubborn and defend the wicked. And if someone whom God has imposed on you to obey commands you to commit disobedience, then do not obey him, and beware of what he excuses himself from. So for everyone to whom you inherited, you should be forced to make excuses, and listen to whoever speaks to you, even if it is small, then it is for everyone. He has value in himself, so you take his heart for that and it is yours, not yours, and God has commanded you to be endearing to people, and this is part of endearing oneself to people. If someone with you has a testimony that he does not know and is forced to do it, then inform him of it, and give your poor brother a gift that you are able to obtain, for its reward is great, and let your fear of God and your hope in Him be through faith.
