Do not be a guardian or a messenger of a people, especially among kings, or a witness, and beware when you wash yourself not to urinate in your bathing room, but rather stay away from it and go ahead and do not vow as much as you can. If you vow, then fulfill your vow.

For the Messenger of God prayed. God, upon him be peace, has testified to the miserliness of those who made a vow.

And beware of wishing to meet the enemy. If you meet him, stand firm and do not flee. Beware of cursing the believers, especially the Companions in particular, for you will harm the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him among his Companions, and do not curse the wind, for the wind is from the soul of the Most Merciful. But ask God for its good and the good of what it was sent with, and seek refuge in God from its evil and the evil of what it was sent with. And if you put on a new garment, then name God and say, O God, give me its good and the good of what it was made for,
