Know that this compound mercy encompasses all existing things, and that it is composed of a general mercy, which encompasses everything, and a specific mercy, which is the mercy by which God has chosen and created for himself a messenger, a prophet, and a saint. And with this compound mercy, God collected the books and revealed a surah in each book. And verses, and among His verses are those that have remained, such as the Qur’an, and every verse that has appeared miraculously, and among His verses, those that have not remained remain.
