Doubts, which are every known thing in which one side appears to be true and another side is not true, so in provision there is what is lawful and unlawful, and between them are doubtful matters that many people do not know. So whoever finds them, stops at them until his matter becomes clear to him. Either he joins them with what is lawful, or he joins them with what is forbidden, then he should not proceed with them. As long as there is a doubt about him, then in the same matter it is sincere to one of the two sides. Rather, the person responsible is suspected due to the contradiction of the legal evidence in his view regarding that and in the intelligible things, such as apparent actions at the hands of created beings, in which there is a facet that indicates that they are for God and a facet that indicates that they are for the creature that appeared in the testimony against him, and in the same matter, it is sincere for one of the two sides. The same applies to magic and mirac
