And know, may God help you, that in this house of knowledge there is the knowledge of veiling related to what is veiled, for excessive proximity is a veil like excessive distance, and in it is the knowledge of the servant sitting with his Lord when he mentions it, and the people of remembrance in it are divided into those who know that he is sitting with the Truth while the Truth mentions him, and to those who do not know that and for the reason. His ignorance of his sitting with his Lord is that he does not know his Lord, so he does not recognize it, or that he does not know that his Lord remembered him due to his deafness and blurring of his sight. The correct rememberer knows when his Lord remembers him, and if he does not know of witnesses to sitting with his Lord and others, he knows that and his companion bears witness. So just as the Truth is the sitter of the one who mentions Him, so is the servant the companion of the Truth. If his Lord remembers him and only a servant si
