And know that knowledge of God has two paths: the path is independent of the mind’s understanding of Him before the establishment of the law, and it is related to His oneness in divinity, and that He has no partner and what must be upon Him except Him, the Necessary Existent, and He has no access to knowledge of His essence, the Most High, and whoever approaches with his mind to knowledge of the essence of God has been exposed. For something he is unable to do, and he is ill-mannered in it, and he exposes himself to great danger, and this path is the one in which the noble Ibrahim, peace be upon him, said to his people: “Is it wrong for you and for what you worship instead of God?” So, he warned them that knowledge of God, based on His being one God, in His divinity is one of the understandings of the minds, so nothing prevented them from doing so.
