From that is that it is letters, and what is understood from this name is two matters. The one matter is called speech, speech, and pronunciation, and the other matter is called writing, numbers, and writing. The Qur’an is written, so it has the letters of a number, and it is spoken by it, so it has the letters of pronunciation. So, when it comes back to its being letters spoken with, is it the word of God, which is His attribute, or is it for the translator? On his authority, know that God has informed us of His Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, that He, Glory be to Him, will be manifested on the Resurrection in various forms, and He will be recognized and denied. And whoever’s truth accepts manifestation in forms, it is not far-fetched that the speech in the letters spoken, called the speech of God, will be of some of those forms, as befits His majesty.
