Know, O intimate guardian, that the obligation of torment is inflicted on the tormentor. It is said that the wall is obligatory if it falls, and the fall does not occur except from one who did not have intrinsic elevation and did not deserve elevation for his own sake. So when he rose from this quality of his, he had no reality to hold on to his elevation, so he fell. That is the Hereafter abode, We assign it to those who do not. They want exaltation on earth, and psychological attributes are not intended for the one described by them. So whoever exalts himself by something else and does not have a protector to preserve his exaltation, he will fall and be killed.
