Then God told that Satan promises them poverty, according to the Almighty’s saying, “He promised them.” So he included mercy from where he did not feel it. If Satan had sensed this merciful enticement, he would not have asked for mercy from the source of benevolence, but the evidence of the circumstances prevented him from considering the truth as an attribute of the divine command, so the pleasant name bequeathed to the jinn to hide from the eyes of people. Sight will not reach them unless they become incarnated and their hearing of the Qur’an, when it is recited to them, is better than human hearing, for man found the all-encompassing name, so he was not alone in creating the divine, gentle name without its corresponding names.
When the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, recited to them Surat Al-Rahman. So he did not say in a verse of it, “Which of the favors of your Lord will you deny?” Except that the jinn said, “Not by any of your favors, our Lor
