And from Him he received that, and the reason for the manifestation was love, for it is the basis of the reason for the existence of the world, and hearing is the reason for its being. We have explained this in the chapter on hearing and love. As for the image of the soul receiving what it has of knowledge, it has two aspects: it is everything that exists due to a reason, and it differs according to the diversity of the causes. The aspect is one if the reception is Everything that exists has a reason from its own aspect, so it cannot exist except through divine manifestation, whether the one who is manifesting it knows it or not, for his knowledge is among the knowledgeable of God, and if he does not know it, he is among the people of care, and he does not feel that he is being cared for, for most people do not know the hadith of this particular aspect nor do they know it. They know it, for it is a special knowledge that God does not give except to those of His servants who single
