From that is following His Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, in what He legislated. God Almighty said, “Say, ‘If you love God, then follow me, God will love you.’ Know that God has two loves, or attaching His love to His servants, which is the specificity of the will of attachment. The first is His love for them, beginning with that love. He guided them to follow following His Messengers. May God’s peace be upon them all.” Then that following produced for them two attachments of love, because the following occurred in two ways, from the aspect of performing the obligatory duties, and the other attachment from the aspect of adhering to the voluntary prayers.
