And know that when God Almighty created the power called reason and placed it in the rational soul to meet the natural desire, if He decreed that the soul should spend it in a way other than that which the Lawgiver had appointed for it, then God knew that He had deposited in the power of the mind the acceptance of what the truth gives it and what the thinking power gives it. God knew that He had given the thinking power to dispose of existing things and control them according to what is controlled by the imagination, from whom it gave the sensory powers and to whom it gave the visual power, which it did not perceive in terms of the totality of the sensory powers.
