As for his consulting his companions, it is other than what was prescribed for him, and consultation is not for the Messenger in terms of his message. If he added to his message that it should be comprehensive, then the status of caliphate is consultation. And since the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was one of the caliphs, it was said to him, “Consult with them about the matter,” then you should know the difference between caliphate and message.
