Staying awake is one of the four pillars on which the House of Abdal was built, which are staying awake, hunger, silence, and isolation. We devoted a section to knowing these four that we did in Taif, which we called Hilyat al-Abdal, and we organized it into verses. In the aforementioned part, the question of my companions Abdullah Badr al-Khadim and Muhammad bin Khalid al-Sadafi, and these are the verses

O he who desires eternal dwellings *** without intending to do good deeds .

Do not covet it, for you are not one of its people *** If you do not compete with them over the circumstances

The House of State has its corners divided *** Our masters are in it From eternity

Between silence and permanent isolation*** and hunger and honest, high vigils
