Our Sheikh Abu Al-Abbas bin Al-Arif Al-Sanhaji used to say in his prayers, O God, you have closed the door of prophecy and the message for us, and you have not closed the door of guardianship. O God, no matter how much you appoint the highest rank in guardianship to the highest guardian you have, make me that guardian, for this is one of the right people who asked for what could be their right, even if it was. Prophecy and the message are things that man deserves rationally, because his soul is capable of them, but when he knew that God had legally closed the door to them and blocked the door to prophecy by laws, he did not ask them and asked what he deserved, for God did not withhold guardianship over us.
