Abu Dawud mentioned on the authority of Salih bin Hassan that the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, saw a man in ihram tied with a rope, so he said, “O owner of the rope, throw it away.”

They use such a hadith as evidence that the ihram cannot be bound while the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, does not bind himself. He, peace and blessings of God be upon him, said, “Throw it because you are in ihram.” He did not give any reason for throwing anything. It is possible that it was because he was a criminal, and it is possible that it was due to another reason, which is that the rope was either usurped by him or because it imitated the girdle that was made as a sign for the Christians .
