They perform what God has commanded to be delivered, and they fear their Lord and fear the evil of reckoning. And I will always guide people to this, and I will be the best of my companions to do so. I will not leave anyone who has made a covenant with God and he hears from me to break it, as if he was of little good and much of it, and I will not let him leave it because of a concession that appears to him that will absolve him of the sin in it. And yet he will be repaid. By the covenant of God, and not by completely breaking it, for the highest station, and as it is not, if the soul becomes accustomed to breaking the covenant and makes it permissible, nothing will ever come of it. This is all from the station of Abraham, which He commanded us to take as a place of prayer. He said, “And take of the place of Abraham as a place of prayer,” meaning a place of supplication when you pray in it.
