Is the believer lying? He said, “There is no true news, for the liar is not truthful in what he is lying about, so understand. Menstruation is a lie to the soul by agreement, and tawaaf is a state of faith, so the menstruating woman does not circumambulate, as we say regarding the imam of a sinner, that it is not permissible to lead him in a state of immorality, without disagreement, for whoever is a sinner in a state of immorality.” He performed the ritual ablution for him, then he performed ablution according to Islamic law and entered ihram by praying behind an imam. He is in obedience to God, and it is not permissible for us to call him a sinner in that case. We did not pray behind a sinful imam, and so did Abdullah bin Omar, whom they use as evidence in praying behind a sinner, and they were wrong. Al-Hajjaj is not a sinner if he performs what God has enjoined. He must obey him in prayer
