Do you not see the one whom God has forsaken, how he is proud of his likes by saying, “I am your Lord, the Most High.” Did He make him do that except his knowledge of his rank, not his knowledge of himself? Man is a slave to an eye and a rank, just as he is the master of an eye, not a rank. Therefore, if he claims the rank, he will be cut off and forbidden, and if he claims the eye, he will be protected and shown mercy, and the human being will be protected and merciful. One in reality, except that what is between what is taken care of and what is not taken care of is the consideration of this chapter, and God speaks the truth and He guides the path.
