A young person is not obligated to perform the task until he reaches puberty. There is no zakat on young camels. A young child learns to pray and beats on it when he is ten years old. He only beats when it is obligatory and puberty is what has happened. So zakat is obligatory on young camels of sound mind if it is found among a boy, and if he has not reached puberty, then whoever has reached puberty.
