God Almighty said: Did He not find you an orphan and take refuge, and find you lost and guide you? And He said, “And as for the one who asks, do not give up.” Meaning, the one who asks for knowledge: A person gives knowledge in charity to the people of God who are his family. Wisdom should not be transgressed by its people, and he should count that charity in the sight of God, that is, he does not see any merit in it. On the one who knows him and does not advance, this calls for service from him in politeness, veneration, and subservience in return for what is better for him. If he does that, it will not be counted in the sight of God, and we have met elders on that, and it is our path, and the Sharia has warned against it in the knowledge of drawings and its scholar.
