Know that the lawful prayers, obligatory and confirmed Sunnah between voluntary and obligatory, are eight, just as the appointed parts of man are eight, because the self, along with its lineage expressed through attributes, is eight. These eight are the self, life, knowledge, will, speech, ability, hearing, sight, and the appointed human being is a living, knowing, willing, speaking, capable, hearing, and seeing person. As for the obligated organs, I mean those with which a person does what he is obligated to do or omit, they are the eight: the ear, the eye, the tongue, the hand, the abdomen, the genitals, the foot, and the heart. As for the eight prayers that are permissible to perform as an obligation and a confirmed Sunnah, they are the five daily prayers, the Witr prayers of the night, Friday, the Eid prayer, the eclipse, rain, istikharah, and prayers at funerals .
