God Almighty said, “And the recompense for a bad deed is a bad deed like it.” He said the like of it, and did not restrict it in such and such a way, so He attached it to the reprehensible character. Then He said, “Whoever does not do it, then he who pardons and makes amends.” He pointed out that abandoning the recompense for a bad deed is an act of good morals, and that is why we said, “With what thing did his life go, since purification has no effect.” It contains purity
