As for the connection of the proof with charity, it is that God Almighty created mankind for miserliness and said that man was created to be fearful, which means in the origin of his upbringing, that if evil befalls him, he becomes fearful, and when goodness touches him in various ways. Benefit, not benefit, what gives its reality is that he gives charity, so if he gives charity, his charity is proof that he has protected himself from the poverty of his soul that God has created for him, and for this reason he said charity is proof, and since the sun is a light that reveals everything that it shines upon for whoever has sight, then revelation occurs only by the radiance of light, not by light. For light has nothing but to repel darkness, and with light, revelation occurs, and light is a veil just as darkness is a veil.
