As for the intellect’s perception of intelligibles, it is divided into two parts: some of it is necessary, like all other perceptions, and some is not necessary. Rather, in its knowledge, it lacks tools, six of which are the five senses that we mentioned, including the thinking faculty, and no known thing that it is possible for a created being to know cannot be perceived by one of these perceptions. Rather, we said that: A group made a mistake in perceiving the senses, and errors were attributed to them. This is because they saw that they were in a ship sailing with them .
