Be jealous of God Almighty and beware of natural, animal jealousy lest it provoke you and overwhelm yourself with it, and I will give you a balance in that. That is because the one who is jealous of God as a religion is only jealous of violating God’s prohibitions against himself and others, just as he is jealous of his mother if someone commits adultery with her. Likewise, he becomes jealous of someone else's mother if he commits adultery with her, as well as the daughter, sister, wife, and slave girl. Every woman with whom he commits adultery may be either one person, a daughter to another, a sister to another, a wife to another, or a slave girl to another. And each of them does not want anyone to commit adultery with his mother, his sister, his daughter, his wife, or his slave girl, just as he does not want anyone to commit adultery with him. This other person wants that the one who claims that he is jealous of God in religion. If he does any of this, he commits adultery an
