Oh my brother, by God, for more than fifty years, my soul has never spoken to me about a sin, may God be praised for that. And beware, my brother, of being arrogant in speech and ranting, and beware of letting anyone other than God enslave you through any of the worldly goods, for you are a slave to the one who enslaved you. Beware of arrogance and tyranny and losing the interests of what you have. Animals, such as an animal, a horse, a camel, a cat, and other things, and do not neglect them, for they are mute and trustworthy in your hands if you withhold them from their interests. And beware of speaking to your brother in which he sees that you are telling the truth and then he believes you and you are lying in it. Do not despise your brother with any of the blessings of God, even if it is small, and do not disdain any of the servants of God and control yourself. When you are angry, you must bear the harm from the servants of God and be patient with it. No one is more patient wit
