Be poor before God as you are poor to Him, for it is a parable

His saying, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and I seek refuge in You from you

The meaning of your poverty before God is that He does not smell a scent from you. Of the scents of divinity, but of pure servitude, just as there is no servitude in the side of the truth, and it is impossible for Him, for He is pure Lord, so be yourself a pure servant, so be with God by your value, not by your eyes, for your eye on Him is the scents of divinity due to the image He created you in by claim, and your value is not like that. This is what my sheikh advised me. And my teacher Abu Abbas Al-Araibi, may God have mercy on him, it is your value to act according to the situation, not the claim, so be yourself. Whenever your self tells you to be rich in God, I have commanded you to be sovereign, so say to it, “I am poor in God and in what God has made me poor in, for God has made me poor in the need for salt
