From what is desired, and through it the lover connects with the beloved, so by separation the lover knows that he is perished and the beloved is the owner. Separation does not respond except to a connection, for it is his address, and by him his balance is established. Separation is limited emptiness, and the separated is a witnessed completeness, and it takes the place of connection, so connection is emptiness, like it, and likeness is its form. Separation and connection are two co-existences. They are two blessings from God.
