Those are a reference to those who hasten to good deeds, and hastening to those who came hastening. Understand, for they hasten to good deeds with the truth, and they are forerunners to them, meaning they precede them and precede them. So, there are three good things for which one can race and hasten, and two good things for which one can race, and good things for which one can race, which is his saying: “Race to forgiveness” and “hasten to forgiveness.” Speed in racing is a must because racing gives that, and it is above striving, so their coming quickly, and what is more than striving is nothing but haste, which is a divine attribute.
