A dark substance in which transparent bodies and other things appeared. Every darkness in the world is from the aerosol substance, which is the cytoplasm, and since it is essentially light, it accepted all the light forms for the occasion, so its darkness was vanished by the light of its forms. For the form revealed it, so darkness was attributed to the nature in the terminology of the wise, and for us darkness is not an expression of Nothing but the unseen, since the unseen cannot be perceived by sense, nor can it be perceived by it, and darkness is perceived but not perceived by it. If the darkness were not light, it would not be valid for it to be perceived, and if it were unseen, it would not be valid for it to bear witness. For the unseen is known only to Him, and these are all the keys to the unseen, but no one knows that they are keys except God.
